Their goal is to develop “innovative, cost-effective approaches to address the health and wellness needs of older adults. “

Week 2 Interview

 Friendship Center: Nick

 1. How do you feel about your boss?:

The supervisor of the Friendship center is very kind, really energetic and very direct but reliably happy. She is very on the spot with whatever we need and always very helpful.

2. How do you feel about the company and what they are doing for the community?

They do the job nobody wants to do. They are very unselfish and caring for the older people, giving them something to do and getting them out of the house and keep them company.

3. What is the work environment like?

The building is very small and homey, it very personal and informal. Its like a small clubhouse that the elderly come to and enjoy their own company. There is really no personal rooms and everyone is always together.

4. Do the elderly people at the Friendship Center form their own little groups like kids in school, and also what is the range of disabilities the the elderly suffer from?

They do form their own little cliques, but they are always together and doing activities with each other. The range of disabilities are from memory loss to actual physical disabilities such as being unable to speak clearly and not being able to move well.
